The Professional Development Graduate Certificate is designed as a non-degree graduate activity to give working professionals, and non-traditional students, who have already completed a bachelor's degree, academic and practical training in the fundamentals of museology. Upon successful completion of the requirements, students are awarded a Professional Development Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies.
The Certificate Program consists of a minimum of 15 (500 level) graduate credit hours. The minimum requirements are successful completion of Museum Practices (MSST 507), Museum Collection Management (MSST 576), Museum Interpretation (MSST 575), at least one museum practica (MSST 586), and one seminar or topics course in museum methods (MSST 529 or MSST 585).
