Congratulations to Museum Studies graduate student Ellen Gieser for her first publication, "The Iconic elephant ear plants (Araceae) from the early Eocene Fossil Butte Flora," published in Review of Paleobotany and Palynology journal! The article explores work she did at the Field Museum in conjunction with the Fossil Butte National Monument, utilizing historical and newly collected Araceae fossil leaves to gain further insights into the Early Eocene Climate Optimum (ECCO) and helps us better understand marginal vegetation of the Fossil Lake system.
